Knowing Your Shoulder
The most important aspect of shoulder management is knowing how your shoulder works. The shoulder consists of 4 main joints: sternoclavicular (between the sternum and the collar bone), acromioclavicular (between the shoulder blade and the collar bone), glenohumeral (between the humerus and the shoulder blade) and the scapulothoracic (a floating joint between the shoulder blade and ribs). The shoulder joint is susceptible to injury due to its entire dependence on non bony connections for its integrity.
